In your actual summary this section is way longer. You get a detailed, organized breakdown of the deposition transcript, tailored to highlight the most important testimony topics like the witness’s background, job, incident details, medical treatment, and case impacts. It’s written formally in third-person, with clear sections and sub-sections for easy navigation. Each part includes a short summary (2–5 sentences) of key facts, backed by exact page-line references (e.g., [7:23–8:7]) from the transcript. The result is a professional, concise tool to understand the witness’s story, credibility, and legal relevance without reading through the whole transcript.

SUMD UP
My story...
Hey, Todd Olivas here, creator of SUMD UP. I've been a licensend California court reporter since 1999 and had my court reporting agency since 2003. At last count we've done roughly 58,000+ depositions! 🤯

With the advent of AI, I was wondering if I could offer an easy way for my clients to summarize their transcripts. Turns out... yep, here it is. I've called it SUMD UP.

My commitment is to make you super happy! Happy that you even bothered to click on this page and tried SUMD UP. I know you'll love it but if there's any problem with the summary, just email me at todd@sumdup.app. Tell me what's wrong and I'll personally step in to fix things for a second run. If I still can't nail it after that -- or you're still not happy -- I'll refund the $25.00 bucks, no worries!

Thanks for giving me and SUMD UP a shot. I promise the summary is going to be amazing! 😀

Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about our service.

How accurate are the summaries?

Very accurate! SUMD UP's AI uses advanced natural language processing to identify key testimony and important information in legal depositions, with accuracy rates exceeding 95%. Each summary undergoes a rigorous quality check process to ensure completeness and precision. However, we always recommend reviewing the summary alongside the original transcript for critical case elements, as AI technology has limitations.

Are the summaries legal advice?

Nope! SUMD UP uses AI for its summaries. You're still going to want to verify your summary's accuracy. And remember, it's definitely not legal advice.

What file formats do you accept?

We currently accept TXT files only. Maximum file size = 750 KB or 450 transcript pages. Larger files may be truncated or rejected.

If your transcript is in a different format (such as PDF, DOC, or DOCX), please convert it to TXT before uploading or contact our support team for assistance.

How long does it take to generate a summary?

Not long at all. Most summaries are generated within 5–10 minutes, depending on the length and complexity of the transcript. For very long depositions (over 300 pages), it may take up to 20 minutes. You'll receive an email notification when your summary is ready for review.

Is my data secure and confidential?

Absolutely. We understand the sensitive nature of legal documents and prioritize security at every level:

  • All uploads and data transfers are encrypted using industry-standard protocols.
  • Our servers are SSL-secured and hosted in SOC 2 Type II compliant facilities.
  • We maintain HIPAA compliance for handling sensitive information, reinforced by our Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with Anthropic. The Claude API ensures zero-day retention—no PHI or transcript data is stored after processing on Anthropic’s systems.
  • On our servers, your transcripts and summaries are accessible only to you and users you explicitly authorize, and all data is automatically purged after 30 days unless you request extended storage.
  • We do NOT use your data to train our AI models.

With SUMD UP, your data’s privacy is our top priority, backed by cutting-edge technology and strict compliance standards.

How much does it cost?

$25.00 per summary.

The charge will say "toddolivas.com."

Why not just use ChatGPT to summarize my transcript instead of paying $25 for SUMD UP?

Great question! SUMD UP is custom built for attorneys by a court reporting expert with 25+ years of experience -- my life’s mission is to make your prep seamless. Unlike ChatGPT, we protect your data privacy and deliver stunning PDF summaries with timelines and deep analysis, saving you hours. This lets you focus on being a great attorney while we handle the heavy summary lifting, ensuring you never miss a critical detail.

What's your refund policy?

If you're not pleased with the summary just email me at todd@sumdup.app. Let me know specifically what is wrong. Maybe the ai went haywire? Maybe the formatting got wonky? Let me step in to take a crack at fixing things with another pass. On the second draft if you're not 100% happy, I'll refund the $25.00. No problem!
